Our fleet of 8 vans ensure we can respond quickly to our customers needs. All are sign written so you can be sure who is at your premises.

All our portable electrical appliances and tools are regularly safety tested.

A fully qualified workforce is one of our ongoing aims. As a minimum requirement all our staff are qualified to NVQ level 3, with most progressing further to City & Guilds certificates and everyone undertakes annual Asbestos Awareness Training.

To ensure we work safely at heights everyone is PASMA qualified, in the use of mobile access towers and we support training through our involvement with the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board).

THE HISTORY OF ABRAHAM SHAW

Abraham Shaw first established the business that still bears his name in 1885, as a joiners and funeral directors. As the business took off, Shaw took in Redman Leach as a partner and after Shaw's death in 1929, Leach continued to run the business on his own.

The family connection was maintained when Shaw's son, also named Abraham, came to work for Leach. Around this time Leach also employed Geoffrey Stell. When Leach retired, Shaw took over the business his father had started, first in partnership, then from 1969 on his own, with Geoffrey Stell working as manager.

Ownership of the business was passed on again, this time to Stell, after Abraham Shaw died in 1975. He successfully ran the business until his retirement in 1991. The company was kept in the family once again, when Geoffrey's sons, Richard and David Stell, took over, still running the business today.

As well as continuing this tradition of being a family business, the ethos of the original Abraham Shaw is also preserved by the company today, namely to provide a service that is honest, reliable and value for money.
